Let me not pray

Image
Prayer! The bridge between human beings and God. It reflects the state of mind. It reflects our attitude towards life. Mostly the prayer is filled with demands, selfishness, helplessness, and fear. Either we are regretful of the past or worried about the future. And we pray to God to be saved from dangers. We miss the right understanding that how can we connect with God.   One of the great philosopher, Rev. Spinoza, he stated once: we must cultivate the intellectual love towards God. When we try to develop it and pray, the prayer would be different. And it inspires all to develop in such away.    Feeling incapable and begging the help is not the real prayer. Infirmity creates timidity. So let’s get developed and be strong. Here is a holy prayer by Rabindranath Tagore. It gives a rightful attitude towards life.   Rabindranath Tagore has a real poetic spiritual heart. He doesn’t beg God. He prays to be fearless in facing dangers and heart to conquer struggles. Being puny is pitiful

Attitude determines altitude

Image
It is wisely said that "Attitude determines altitude." It is very interesting to know that what winners say and what losers say. After all what we say reflects our attitude. Think and decide what category I belong to. And If anyone find that he needs to change ... then change what we think and say and be a winner. It is too simple to act.  The Winner is always part of the answer; The Loser is always part of the problem.  The Winner always has a program; The Loser always has an excuse. The Winner says, “Let me do it for you”; The Loser says, “That is not my job.” The Winner sees an answer for every problem; The Loser sees a problem for every answer. The Winner says, “It may be difficult but it is possible”; The Loser says, “It may be possible but it is too difficult.” When a Winner makes a mistake, he says, “I was wrong”; When a Loser makes a mistake, he says, “It wasn't my fault.” A Winner makes commitments; A Loser makes pr

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening

Image
Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village, though;   He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.   Robert Frost

Lead thou me on

Image
Lead, kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom, Lead thou me on; The night is dark, and I am far from home; Lead thou me on. Keep thou my feet; I do not ask to see The distant scene; one step enough for me. I was not ever thus, nor prayed that thou Shouldst lead me on; I loved to choose and see my path; but now Lead thou me on. I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears, Pride ruled my will : remember not past years. So long thy power hath blest me, sure it still Will lead me on O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till The night is gone, And with the morn those angel faces smile Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile. A happy family is heaven on the earth !

Image
This is a small story about human feelings and family bondage. It’s another morning... Again I have to go to the office. Oh, this is me… I shouted having a glance at my snap in today’s newspaper. But what the HELL is it doing in the death column?? ……..Strange !… One sec... Let me think, last night when I was going to the bed I had a severe pain in my chest; but I don’t remember anything after that, I think I had a sound sleep. It’s morning now, ohh….. It’s already 10:00 AM, where is my coffee? I will be late for the office and my boss will get a chance to irritate me. Where is everyone…??? I screamed. “I think there is a crowd outside my room, let me check.” I said to myself. So many people….. Not all of them crying… But why are some of them crying ?? WHAT IS THIS??? I’m laying there on the floor… “I AM HERE” … I shouted!!! No one listens. “LOOK I AM NOT DEAD” … I screamed once again!!! No one is interested in me. They were all looking at me on the

Spring of Happiness

Image
It is interesting to know... which country is the happiest country in the world... refer the link below.. http://www.livescience.com/51327-happiest-countries-list.html It inspires us to think...... We have rich and divine heritage of Vedas, Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita... How many Gods we believe in India... How many religions we follow in India... How many rituals, customs and traditions we follow in India.... If we have the most ancient and rich heritage... If we have so many Gods and Religions... If we are following such good rituals and customs... Then why we are sad and unhappy. India must be the 1st in the list... But India has 70th position. Still we need to Introspect... Why it is so... Because we don't understand where the happiness is... We are trying to find it somewhere outside.. somewhere in the materialistic objects. If happiness lies in worldly articles and ornaments then, who possess it, must be happy. But we see in the society that those who hav

Purity

Image
Life of my life, I shall ever try to keep my body pure, knowing that thy living touch is upon all my limbs. I shall ever try to keep all untruths out from my thoughts, knowing that thou art that truth which has kindled the light of reason in my mind. I shall ever try to drive all evils away from my heart and keep my love in flower, knowing that thou hast thy seat in the inmost shrine of my heart. And it shall be my endeavor to reveal thee in my actions, knowing it is thy power gives me strength to act. By Rabindranath Tagore

Break limits

Image
An elephant can lift in excess of a ton of weight with just its trunk. Still an elephant is conditioned to stay in one place with a weak rope and a stake. Only a small rope tied to its front leg holds an elephant. No chains, no cages. It is obvious that the elephant can, at anytime, break away from its bonds but for some reason, it does not. The reason is that, when the elephant is a baby and much smaller, it is tied to a strong chain and strong tree. The baby is weak but the chain and tree are strong. The baby is not used to being tied, so it keeps tugging and pulling the chain, in vain. A day comes when it realizes that all the tugging and pulling will not help and it gives up, thinking that it cannot break away from the bond. It stops and stands still. And when the baby elephant becomes the mighty giant elephant, he is tied with a weak rope and a small stake. The elephant could with one tug, walk away free, but it goes nowhere because it has been conditioned to believe

Youth

Age is a quality of mind If you have left your dreams behind If your ambitions’ fires are dead If you no longer look ahead If hope is cold… Then you are old…then you are old But If from life you take the best If in life you keep the jest No matter how years go by No matter how birthdays fly If love you hold… Then you are not old…then you are not old Anonymous

Who will win ?

“Grandma, please tell me story” A 5 years old boy asked to his grandmother, “You forgot yesterday also. Tell me now”Grandma looked into eyes of cute little boy, smiled and softly said,”Ok, listen…Once upon a time, there was an open swimming competition in one village.  Participants have to swim from one side of the lack to another side. Total distance to swim was around 500meters and winning prize was Rs. 10,000/- which was so much for village people, around 20 years ago. But only hurdle in the competition was, there were crocodile family leaving there into the lake."Crocodiles?" boy surprisingly whispered."Yes dear" Grandma continue...  At given time almost everyone gathered at lake and terrifyingly just before the race people saw Crocodile around the starting point. Everyone was scared; no one was ready to jump, no one want to win the race. Prize was 10,000/- but life is priceless. So finally, officially race started but no one tried to win the ra

Brink Of Eternity

Image
In desperate hope I go and search for her  in all the corners of my room;  I find her not.  My house is small  and what once has gone from it can never be regained.  But infinite is thy mansion, my lord,  and seeking her I have to come to thy door.  I stand under the golden canopy of thine evening sky  and I lift my eager eyes to thy face.  I have come to the brink of eternity from which nothing can vanish  no hope, no happiness, no vision of a face seen through tears.  Oh, dip my emptied life into that ocean,  plunge it into the deepest fullness.  Let me for once feel that lost sweet touch  in the allness of the universe. By Rabindranath Tagore

Passing breeze

Image
Yes, I know, this is nothing but thy love. O beloved of my heart, this golden light that dances upon the leaves, these idle clouds sailing across the sky, this passing breeze leaving its coolness upon my forehead. The morning light has flooded my eyes, this is thy message to my heart. Thy face is bent from above, thy eyes look down on my eyes, and my heart has touched thy feet. By Rabindranath Tagore

Flower

Image
Pluck this little flower and take it, delay not! I fear lest it droop and drop into the dust. I may not find a place in thy garland, but honour it with a touch of pain from thy hand and pluck it. I fear lest the day end before I am aware, and the time of offering go by. Though its colour be not deep and its smell be faint, use this flower in thy service and pluck it while there is time. By Rabindranath Tagore

I can do it !

Image
Business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy. Suddenly an old man appeared before him. "I can see that something is troubling you," he said. After listening to the executive's woes, the old man said, "I believe I can help you." He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, "Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time." Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come. The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world! "I can erase my money worries in an instant!" he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it wa
