Seagull the soul-bird

At a very early age, my well-wisher gave me a book: Jonathan Livingston Seagull. At an instance, it seems to be a story of a bird who flies recklessly and wasting time. But when the real meaning was revealed, I found the voyage of life within it.

It’s a wonderful story of a seagull bird, who was dissatisfied with life. He saw his flock fighting for livelihood. They were just existing. Nothing extra, nothing special. He realized that life is not for only existing. There must be more than just living. It’s about flying.

So it’s a story of self-realization and self-discovery. It’s about expressing perfection which is hidden within us all. We discussed a lot about it and concluded these six points. These are mind-changing and life-changing views. Here I am sharing with all.

1. Seagull is a soul-bird:

It’s not a story of a mere bird who flies rashly. It’s a story of an inner bird who lives within us all. It’s not only about living but flying. It’s about expressing perfection. It’s a story of a journey of a soul. Don’t let that inner bird die!

2. Break your limits:

Don’t be stuck by limiting beliefs. Limiting thoughts always hinder. Limits are mere thoughts that we think and believe. We bound ourselves. Break the chain of limiting thoughts and free own self. The sky's the limit.

3. I can do:

Believe in self. Always say: I can do. One who doesn’t believe in self, God can’t help him. Always say: I am unique, rare and exceptional. I am the mighty being. I can do anything and everything. Cultivate faith.

4. Life is a journey:

Don’t be stagnant. Don’t live a dead life. Just set goals and achieve them. Every stop is a station, not a destination. When one is over, set another. A river is pure because of its flow.

5. Giving back:

When we achieve, when we gain, we must give back. Love and kindness are great lessons. After reaching height when we give a hand to a friend, God takes a note of it. Ultimately we are blessed by giving.

6. Don’t make me God.

One who has achieved after efforts, we make them God. We worship them blindly. We consider them divine and gifted. But in the true sense, they are one of us. One day they started a journey. The same possibility is within us all. The same power is gifted to us by God. Just be awake and aware.

You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true. You may have to work for it, however.

To the real Jonathan Livingston Seagull, who lives within us all.
